The NSDI provides access to GIS mapping data for the general public, Federal, State, and local government entities, researchers, and developers. California GIS Maps Database includes mapping data from Federal agencies such as the USGS, the Census Bureau, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Bureau of Land Management; State mapping agencies, such as the Michigan Department of Transportation; and local governments, such as the cities of Detroit and Chicago.
